Back in 2003, The Black Eyed Peas released “Where Is The Love” in 2003 in response to the 9/11 attacks.

The band has remade the song in response to the numerous terror attacks on 2016, the ongoing crisis in Syria, the Philando Castile and Alton Sterling deaths, and the ambush killings of five police officer in Dallas.

“I remember when the attack in Paris happened, people would say ‘We need “Where Is The Love?” again,’” Will.i.am said in a preview video. “And then Belgium happened, and then Turkey, and then Orlando, and then Philando, and then Alton before him, and then Dallas. Everyone was calling on us like, ‘We need that song again.’”

The Peas once again collaborated with Justin Timberlake, who cowrote and provided vocals on the original song. Additional vocals were provided by Mary J. Blige, Nicole Scherzinger, Audra Day, Jessie J, The Game, and Usher. The arrangement and melody differ from the original but Timberlake sings the familiar chorus two thirds in. A$AP Rocky adds a new verse, rapping about how the upcoming election is “a joke” and describe Eric Garner’s death at the hands of police.

Diddy, Cassie, DJ Khaled, Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Randy Jackson, Wilmer Valderrama, Jamie Foxx, Vanessa Hudgens, Lance Bass, Connie Britton, Omarion, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and LL Cool J also appeared in the video.

The Peas also invited a new generation of celebrities: Kendall Jenner, Tori Kelly, Jaden Smith, Shaun Ross, and Shailene Woodley.

Proceeds from the new version will go to the i.am.angel foundation, a non-profit founded by will.i.am with the goal of “transforming lives through education, inspiration and opportunity.”
